Abstract. The study examines various types of legal regulation of technology transfer depending on the type of legal system within which the relevant institutions operate, specifically the civil law (Roman-Germanic), common law, and mixed legal systems. The main legal, economic, and organizational mechanisms for technology transfer, as well as the mechanisms for its implementation, are identified.
The study examines current mechanisms and forms of technology transfer, their key features, advantages, and disadvantages, and considers the factors that influence the organization of technology transfer. Each of these instruments has its own advantages and limitations, and their effectiveness depends on the level of legal clarity, institutional support, and the willingness of businesses to collaborate with scientific institutions. Ukrainian science declares a desire to integrate into the European innovation space but, at the same time, faces a number of barriers, from legal to human resource-related.
The results of this study can be used by representatives of government agencies, the business community, experts, researchers, and faculty members at higher education institutions.
Keywords: technology transfer, innovation, mechanisms of technology transfer, forms of technology transfer, integration into the European Research Area.
