Abstract. The research emphasizes that the modern generation of the innovation process is based on the model of open innovation. Examples of the application of innovations in various spheres of activity are considered. It is agreed that nowadays real innovations arise mostly in the process of combining knowledge, experience, intelligence and information in related and unrelated activities and spheres for serving society.
